Blonde's Ana de Armas didn't have a Marilyn moment on the Golden Globes red carpet; she opted to make the night her very own. De Armas wore black dress with an intricate silver stud design running down the front. She had her hair styled down. Her makeup was subdued, with her wearing a pretty pink lip.

Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama for her work in Blonde, the controversial “fictionalization” of Marilyn Monroe's life.
De Armas spoke to W in an interview released this week about how she actually didn't know much about Monroe before taking on the role. “I wasn’t really aware of Marilyn,” she said. “I’d seen a few of her movies, and I knew she was an actress, but nothing deeper than that.” Still, she learned and absorbed as much as she could about the icon, even on set when she had to mimic real scenes from Monroe's own films.
“In Blonde, we re-created a lot of scenes from the films she was in,” she prefaced. “I saw all of them several times—the ones we re-created, I watched on repeat. Andrew [Dominik], the director, is very meticulous and detailed. We had two monitors on set, one playing the real scene with Marilyn, and one with us. We had to do everything spot on, or he would not move on. It was a lot of pressure, but a lot of fun too. It was mind-blowing to do those scenes; it felt very special and kind of surreal.”
