More of bankrupt Amyris’ brands have found new homes at auction, with at least one celebrity investor getting their brand back.

Stripes, the menopausal brand founded in partnership with Naomi Watts, has been sold for $500,000 to Sakana LLC, with the “Mulholland Drive” and “King Kong” actress listed as managing member.

The brand was launched in 2022 with products including a cooling face mist, thickening scalp serum, hydrating vaginal gel, probiotic supplements and body oils.

At the time, Watts said: “Women should feel like the menopause conversation is a normal one to have. This should be the end of the shame and secrecy, and the beginning of something new and wonderful for women.”

Currently, Stripes is available on Amazon, sephora.com and direct-to-consumer, and its bestsellers are the Vag of Honor hydrating vaginal gel and Oh My Glide vaginal lubricant, $50 and $40, respectively.

Elsewhere, AA Investments (HK) Ltd. will buy Rose Inc, the makeup brand that was a joint venture with supermodel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, for $2.5 million.

And hair care brand JVN Hair founded with “Queer Eye” star Jonathan Van Ness was sold to investment firm Windsong Global for $1.25 million. Windsong also won the bid for clean baby care brand Pipette.

Amyris, a onetime biotech darling that sought to change the beauty industry with innovative and sustainable ingredients and later moved into the celebrity brand world, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in a Delaware court in August.

Ever since then, it has been trying to offload several consumer brands. Earlier this month, Biossance, thought to be its most successful creation, was sold to online beauty retailer THG Beauty, formerly known as The Hut Group, for $20 million. 4U by Tia and Menolabs also found buyers.

In October, Francisco Costa, the former Calvin Klein designer, bid to pay $350,000 to take over his brand, Costa Brazil. Prior to this, Amyris planned to close the brand.

During the same month, Onda Beauty cofounder Larissa Thomson won an online auction for the Tribeca lease, the company name, website and products in store. Onda was founded by Thomson, Watts and Sarah Bryden-Brown, and later acquired by Amyris.
