Amy Winehouse's Iconic Looks Are Being Displayed at the Grammy Museum

A new exhibit celebrating the life and sartorial style of the late singer Amy Winehouse is opening at the Grammy Museum this week. Beyond Black — The Style of Amy Winehouse is set to provide a retrospective of Winehouse’s musical career, biggest influences, and, of course, her most memorable fashion moments. BAZAAR.com has an exclusive look at some of the celebrated singer’s most iconic fashion pieces worn during her too-short career.

Though Winehouse died at the age of 27 and released only two studio albums, her mark on the music industry, pop culture, and fashion is still defined as indelible to this day. Her raw voice and blunt British lyricism combined with her new-age, anti-pop star aesthetic continues to influence today’s newest crop of musical talent almost a decade after her death.

According to an official press release, the exhibit will also reflect on Winehouse’s untimely passing and how that led to her family’s creation of the Amy Winehouse Foundation—an organization that “works to inspire children and young people to build their self-esteem and resilience.”

The Grammy Museum will be celebrating the exhibit’s opening with a panel discussion—open to Grammy members only—reflecting on Winehouse’s everlasting influence. The intimate discussion will feature Winehouse’s stylist, Naomi Parry, and close friend Catriona Gourlay, and will be moderated by music journalist Eve Barlow. A free, first-come/first-served public launch party will follow the panel discussion. The exhibit opens to the public on January 17 and will run through April 13, 2020.
