The highly anticipated Amy Winehouse biopic Back to Black has unleashed its first trailer – and while the revered songstress may be hard to emulate, actress Marisa Abela does a pretty convincing job.

As Winehouse's "Back to Black" plays in the background, Abela strolls the streets of London, bouncing from the stage to the tattoo parlor to her childhood home. "I don't write songs to be famous. I write songs because I don't know what I'd do if I didn't," Abela opens the trailer, mirroring the late singer's aesthetic to a tee. "I want people to hear my voice and just forget their troubles."

Per the film's official logline: "Back to Black is a never-before-seen glimpse into Amy Winehouse’s early rise to fame and the release of her groundbreaking studio album, Back to Black. Told from Amy’s perspective, the film is an unapologetic look at the woman behind the phenomenon and the relationship that inspired one of the most legendary albums of all time.”

"You've gotta remember – I ain't no Spice Girl," she delivers later on.

Winehouse's ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil is played by Jack O’Connell. Sam Taylor-Johnson directed the biopic.

Back to Black premieres in UK and Ireland theaters on Friday, April 12, followed by a U.S. premiere on Friday, May 10.
