Amy Schumer has spoken candidly about her decision to have liposuction, revealing that she doesn't regret undergoing the fat-removal procedure or telling her fans about it.

Earlier this year, the actor took to Instagram to share the news that she'd had liposuction – a cosmetic procedure used to remove unwanted body fat – and more recently, she's opened up to the Hollywood Reporter about her reasons for doing so. "It’s not about needing to be slamming, because I’ve never been famous for being hot," the actor slash activist said. "But I’d reached a place where I was tired of looking at myself in the mirror," she added, pointing out that "grilled chicken and walks" weren't getting her closer to the body she envisioned for herself.

"Everybody on camera is doing this sh*t [surgeries], I just wanted to be real about it," she said in her interview.

However, Amy admitted that undergoing liposuction wasn't something she thought she'd ever do, telling her followers on Instagram: "Never thought I would do anything, but talk to me after your uterus doesn’t contract for 2.5 years and you turn 40."

But, this isn't the first time Amy has been honest with her fans about her body confidence journey. Speaking on the Dear Chelsea podcast she said, "I got liposuction... I never thought that I was going to do anything like that. Like when I would hear liposuction I was just like, 'That's so crazy to me,' and I would say that I'm not ever going to do anything."

On her decision to have the fat-removal procedure, Amy said that after having a c-section, a hysterectomy and an appendectomy, her outlook on liposuction changed. "I healed well," Amy said of her three surgeries. "And and I was like, can I get lipo?"

She went on, "And I got lipo, and I'm feeling really good."

Amy's openness when it comes to her cosmetic surgery should come as no surprise, given how honest she's been about her health struggles as of late. Just last year, the 40-year-old revealed she'd had her uterus removed due to endometriosis complications, later opening up on the impact that has had on whether or not she'll have more children in the future.
