Amy Schumer Just Revealed Her Son’s Name, and It’s So Cute

She posted a new photo of him too.

Amy Schumer and her husband, Chris Fischer, welcomed their first child, a boy, late Sunday night (May 5), the comedian confirmed on Instagram.

"10:55 pm last night. Our royal baby was born," Schumer posted on Monday afternoon. The caption is a not-so-subtle reference to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, who welcomed their son this morning.

She confirmed her son's name on Tuesday night: Gene Attell Fischer.

Schumer confirmed in October 2018 that she was pregnant, and since then she's been candid about the complications she's experienced. In February she had to cancel part of her tour due to hyperemesis gravidarum, a condition that causes severe nausea during pregnancy.

"The baby and I are healthy and everything looks good. But I am in my third trimester and I am still nauseous all the time and vomiting," she posted to her Instagram at the time. "I vomit mostly every time I ride in a car even for five minutes. I have a pretty good attitude about it and some days I feel good for a couple of hours. But mostly it sucks."

In true Amy Schumer fashion, though, she made the most of her difficult situation by infusing pregnancy anecdotes into her latest stand-up special for Netflix, Growing. "I throw up an Exorcist amount every day," she jokes at one point during her set.

One thing the public quickly noticed about Schumer's pregnancy announcement was how closely it coincided with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's. Naturally, the Trainwreck actress got ahead of this story by joking to the Los Angeles Times, "Chris and I are thrilled and almost positive he's the father. I look forward to competing with Markle every step of the way."

Schumer and Fischer, a chef, tied the knot during an intimate ceremony in Malibu last year. (Her good pal Jennifer Lawrence was in attendance, obvi.)

Congrats to the couple!
