Everyone has been eagerly anticipating an update on Amy Adams' next project, Nightbitch, based on Rachel Yoder's 2021 novel of the same name.

While it has been crickets since Searchlight snapped up the rights for $25 million, it seems new details are emerging, including a potential release date for this fall as per Deadline.

The IMDb synopsis reads: An artist who pauses her career to be a stay-at-home mom seeks a new chapter in her life and encounters just that, when her nightly routine takes a surreal turn and her maternal instincts begin to manifest in canine form.

Marielle Heller was hired as writer and director of the film when Searchlight acquired the rights from Annapurna.

The project caught fans' attention when six-time Oscar nominee Amy Adams announced her involvement, and curiosity only grew stronger when Heller signed on as director.

Heller's previous films include The Diary of a Teenage Girl, Can You Ever Forgive Me?, and A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood. She has directed Melissa McCarthy, Richard E Grant and Tom Hanks to Oscar nominations with her compassionate stories.

All eyes are on Nightbitch this year as we wait for an official release date and further updates.
