Amtrak's Black Friday Sale Has Tickets for As Low As $19

While others may be rushing out on Black Friday to purchase electronics or clothes, you can spend your money on something that will take you a bit further thanks to Amtrak's holiday deal.

From now until Monday, December 2, Amtrak is offering 35 percent off fares on nationwide travel. Tickets are available for as low as $19 on select routes for travel from Dec 9 until April 30. If you’re traveling on Amtrak’s more popular routes, the deals are available for travel from January 6 through April 30.

The only blackout dates of the sale are December 22 and 23, 2019 and January 2 and 3, 2020.

On the west coast, trains from Los Angeles to Seattle will only cost $82 in the sale. On the east coast, travel between New York City and Washington D.C. will only cost you $39 each way.

If you’re looking for an epic train journey, hop aboard the 40+ hour service from Chicago to Los Angeles — including a stop just next to the Grand Canyon — for only $119.

If you want to travel but aren’t sure the exact days you’ll want to take the train, book anyways. These discounted tickets are able to be exchanged, although you’ll have to pay a 25 percent cancellation fee.

The offer is only valid on coach and Acela business class seats. It cannot be combined with any other discounts.

You don’t need a code to book trains through the sale. Just visit the Amtrak website before the end of Cyber Monday to book your discounted travel.
