Amtrak Is Having a Sale on Private Roomettes, and It's *Really* Good

What’s better than a good, old-fashioned train trip? A good, old-fashioned train trip that you scored for a majorly discounted price.

Amtrak is currently offering a two-for-one deal on private roomettes, which are mini rooms that are ideal for two passengers. According to a press release, they “offer comfortable seating by day, and at night, the chairs convert into a comfortable bed with a drop-down bunk directly above.”

Roomettes also come with fresh linen and towel service, complimentary bottled water and access to the Amtrak Metropolitan lounges (that means snacks and drinks, showers and Wi-Fi for no extra cost) at select stations.

The sale allows one person in a group of two to travel for free and is available now through December 11. The offer is valid for travel from January 7 to May 23, and there are no blackout dates (though the sale isn’t valid on the Auto Train).

The only hard part? Choosing where to go.
