Can someone page a doctor? Because we're feeling faint after hearing the latest New Amsterdam news.

In a major show of confidence from NBC, the network just announced it renewed the popular medical drama for three (!!!) more seasons.

New Amsterdam follows the lives of the fictional staff at America's oldest public hospital and the high-stakes storylines have reeled in an average of nearly 10 million viewers over the past two seasons.

The show stars Ryan Eggold, Freema Agyeman, Janet Montgomery, Anupam Kher, Tyler Labine, and Jocko Sims—and the beloved cast is just as excited about New Amsterdam's renewal as the fans.

"I think it just doesn't happen in the current climate that shows get picked up [for multiple seasons] and the only show I know that it's happened to is This Is Us," said Janet, who plays Dr. Lauren Bloom. "And everybody loves that show, so to put us in a similar category as that show is so, so cool."

Ryan, who plays the hospital heartthrob Dr. Max Goodwin, called the three-season renewal "unprecedented, unfathomable, and unbelievable."

But the good news doesn't end there. According to NBC Entertainment Chairman Paul Telegdy, New Amsterdam could turn into a franchise like the fan-favorite One Chicago shows.

"There is a potential for a spinoff," Paul said after announcing the renewal. "I can imagine a whole world around New Amsterdam."
