Amirah Kassem Brought Her Rainbow Striped Cakes to a Dinner in The Hamptons

Rainbows replaced stars and stripes at Jonathan and Lizzie Tisch's Fourth of July eve dinner party, set at their Bridgehampton summer home in celebration of Amirah Kassem. And in true form, the baker brought an explosion of sprinkles and color to the occasion.

"I love bringing people together from so many different industries to celebrate something happy," Kassem explained, "watching people revert back to their childhood with a candid expression of excitement when they break into the piñata cake is the best part of my job."

Palomas and craft cocktails were passed in the Tisch's manicured yard before guests made their way to the patio as the sun slowly slipped from golden hour to a warm sunset. The ROYGBIV-themed tablescape hosted guests including Drew Barrymore, Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka, Brooke Shields, Christy Turlington Burns, Jill Martin, Ezra J. Williams, and Shoshanna Gruss who all gathered to support Kassem in her latest cookbook. Kassem published her famous, colorful recipes and piñata cake technique in "The Power of Sprinkles." To compliment her cookbook, she partnered with William Sonoma to create a line of rainbow dinnerware and color-coordinated spatulas, which decorated each guest's personal place setting.

"I never in my whole life thought that I would meet someone sparklier, and then I met her [Kassem]," Lizzie confessed in her opening remarks. Both sporting chic, in-theme rainbow looks, Kassem and Lizzie's love for each other, baking, and making people happy through one of life's simple and delicious pleasures, cake, melted everyone's heart.

"Lizzie really is the queen of desserts," John smiled as he offered the table a slice of meatball pizza, his favorite. Also on the menu was fresh mozzarella salad, grilled salmon paired with local corn and zucchini, and a seemingly never-ending supply of sizzling pizzas, Kassem and the Tisch's invited guests inside for the most anticipated part of the night, dessert! Cherry pies, mini-cake balls, and eight Flour Shop cakes in every color decorated the overflowing dessert table, which was almost too pretty to eat.

Slowly the evening came to a close as guests parted with a sugar rush and their own Flour Shop cake to share with family and friends over the holiday weekend.
