Aminé Redesigns New Balance 610T in Banana Yellow & Brown
Earlier today, New Balance announced its collaboration with rapper, singer and songwriter, and New Balance brand ambassador Aminé. The two partners are reimagining the New Balance 610T. The banana-inspired 610T celebrates his journey from being a kid from Portland to becoming an international star.
The fulfillment of a lifelong dream, the 610T outfits the trail-ready silhouette with an array of unexpected twists and surprises, such as a distinctive banana motif, which pays homage to Aminé’s journey.
“The idea of bananas becoming my bat signal came from struggle, and I would always draw the logo to remind me of my journey. The bananas represent my come-up,” says Aminé.
New Balance
The Aminé x New Balance 610T will launch globally on NewBalance.com starting August 25, 2023, and will have a suggested retail price of $160. The sneaker combines a fresh material mix as a yellow spacer mesh upper is overlaid with glossy, brown patent leather, and paired with a speckled, three-color midsole, mimicking the color change that occurs as a banana ripens.
A closer-knit mesh features at the ankle collar, with ripstop accents at the heel and rope lacing offering additional hints of functional, outdoor inspiration. The design is rounded out with an array of playful details waiting to be discovered, iridescent panels, a graphic jewel detail with a surprising ‘snow globe’ effect, a co-branded tongue label, and banana sticker-inspired graphics.
