From day one, Luke Bryan made a very bold prediction: Casey Bishop will become the next American Idol.

The country singer made the definitive statement moments after Casey impressed him, Lionel Richie and Katy Perry with her rendition of Mötley Crue's "Live Wire" in the audition round. Needless to say, she earned three enthusiastic "yes" votes and a ticket to Hollywood. What's more, Casey received a special shoutout from Mötley Crue on Twitter, which read: "Congratulations to Casey Bishop who blew away the judges away with an awesome rendition of 'Live Wire'."

Since then, Casey has become one of America's favorite competitors this season. After crushing her most recent performance of Coldplay's "Paradise," Casey was voted through to the top 5 (which became the top 4 when Caleb Kennedy dropped out this week in light of a controversial resurfaced video). Now, she is only a few weeks away from proving Luke right.

But well before making a name for herself on American Idol, the 16-year-old star was practicing her craft via karaoke at a restaurant in Fort Myers, Florida called Shoeless Joe's, TalentRecap.com reports. According to what a manager of the restaurant told NBC2 News, the young singer, at just 7 years old, would pack the restaurant and do well every time she was on stage.

But while she quickly grew her fan base locally, Casey went on to tell NBC2 News that she had previously been rejected when trying out for America's Got Talent and The Voice competition shows.

"They [the producers of The Voice and AGT] were just like 'No, no, no, no, no.' So I was just like, 'Okay, [American Idol] is worth a shot,' but I wasn't expecting anything," Casey said. "And then, yeah, it went really well."

You could definitely say that. As the high school student from Estero, Florida gets closer and closer to achieving her dreams, she is hoping to inspire those watching her to keep pursuing their own — and to know that anything is attainable.

"If you want something, you can definitely get it," Casey declared.
