American Idol host Ryan Seacrest is celebrating the life of a loved one, and it's one fans didn't see coming.

When National Best Friend Day occurred on June 8, the TV personality shared a sweet video on Instagram featuring the animal closest to his heart. In the short clip, folks can see Ryan running outside with his beloved black Labrador Retriever Georgia. Coincidentally, National Best Friend fell on her birthday, which Ryan acknowledged in the emotional caption he wrote for the post.

"Happy birthday to my best friend," he wrote on the social media platform.

As Ryan seldom posts moments with Georgia online, folks immediately noticed when he dedicated a special place on his Instagram feed for her. Unsurprising, the tender moment sparked heartfelt messages from his followers.

"HELLO GORGEOUS GEORGIA. I love seeing you with your papa! 💖🐾🐾🐾🐾," one person wrote on Instagram. "Awww, that was so cute Ryan; bet Georgia loves it! 👏👏," another added. "Happy Birthday Georgia!!!! Truly the best ❤️," someone else chimed in.

Despite Georgia not being a present fixture on Ryan's social media accounts, the former daytime TV show host opened up about adopting the pup back in 2014. A few years after welcoming her into his home, he revealed Georgia was actually a present from American Idol producer Simon Fuller since he raised dogs just like her.

"I was always over there," he said in a July 2020 segment on Live With Kelly and Ryan. "I was at Simon Fuller's house... watching probably a rerun of American Idol. He kind of looked at me playing with the dogs with that weird look like, 'Huh, you're going to be a dad one day.'"

Ryan continued: "Then, a couple of weeks later, a knock on the door and a little tiny, black, beautiful, cute puppy Lab shows up. I just thought that was the sweetest, nicest, kindest thing. So now, for life, Georgia is my partner."
