'American Idol' Alum Scotty McCreery's Baby Boy Just Hit a Major Milestone

Scotty McCreery couldn't be a prouder dad.

The American Idol season 10 champ and his wife, Gabi Dugal, captured a defining moment on camera, and now he's sharing the special interaction with his fans.

On Tuesday, May 30, McCreery took to social media to share that the couple's 7-month-old son, Avery, is beginning to speak his first words. But much to the singer's surprise, the baby attempted a full sentence!

In the video, which was shot by the singer's wife and shared to his Instagram grid, the "Five More Minutes" singer was seated on a rocking chair outside, holding Avery and chatting before the baby began babbling back to dad. "What are you doing? Did you just repeat what I said?" a shocked McCreery asked the infant. "Sure sounded like it," he concluded.

"Avery skipping over first words and going straight to sentences?? 🤯😂🥹," the 29-year-old father of one quipped in the caption.

Many fans were impressed by the baby's first words and took to the comments to show their excitement, including one fan who wrote, "Oh my goodness. So stinking cute! 😍."

Another fan noted the singer's shocked look, writing, "Scotty’s face when he says it!! Hahahaha."

"Wow so cute you’ve both bred a future genius x," another fan gushed, while a fourth added, "Your face of shock is the absolute best 😂💙."

McCreery and his wife, whom he married in June 2018, welcomed their adorable bundle of joy on Oct. 24, 2022.
