On ‘American Horror Story’ this mansion for sale was horrifying. In reality, it’s chic
A home that was featured in one of the most chilling horror series on television today has landed on the real estate market in New Orleans, Louisiana, for $4.5 million.
The Buckner Mansion, a seven-bedroom, seven-bathroom residence that was built in 1856, is considered one of the most beautiful homes in the city thanks to its striking exterior. It was even featured on two seasons of FX’s hit thriller series, “American Horror Story.”
And trust us, there’s nothing terrifying about this stunning, and elegant, place.
“This imposing Greek revival mansion is the largest surviving home designed by Lewis E. Reynolds, one of the city’s most talented architects of the mid-1800’s, and is one of the finest examples of Southern architecture to be found anywhere,” the listing on Francher Perrin Group says.
“The grandeur of this home begins with the imposing, six-foot high cast-iron fence (over a Quincy granite base) that’s stylized with a honeysuckle blossom motif.”
Features in and around the 9,062-square-foot residence, per the listing, include:
Grand hall
Three brass chandeliers
High ceilings
Oversized bedrooms
Attic
Apartment
Bonus room
Garage
Brick pathway
Patio
Two driveways
The home was featured in the third season of the wildly popular FX series, which was titled “Coven” and premiered in 2013. It would also appear later in the eighth season titled “Apocalypse,” which aired in 2018, Atlas Obscura reported.
The listing is held by Francher Perrin Group, Latter & Blum and Compass.
