American Airlines Announces 2024 Service From New York to Cape Cod, Canada, Maine, and More

The airline is also bringing back its route to Bermuda from Washington D.C. next year.

American Airlines is gearing up for the new year with several new flight routes to popular summer destinations in 2024.

Starting on June 5, 2024, American will launch new routes to Portland, Maine (PWM); Bangor, Maine (BGR); Hyannis, Massachusetts (HYA); and Halifax, Nova Scotia (YHZ) from New York's LaGuardia Airport (LGA) the airline shared with Travel + Leisure this week. On June 22, 2024, the airline will launch service to Martha's Vineyard (MVY) and Nantucket (ACK) in Massachusetts also from LGA.

The airline's route to Halifax from New York places them as the only U.S. airline flying to the region.

American will also be heading to Hyannis from DC's Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) starting on June 22.

All of the routes will be operated on an Embraer 175 aircraft, which have 76 seats including 12 First Class Seats and 20 Main Cabin Extra Seats. The aircraft is equipped with Wi-Fi.

Tickets for the new services will be available for purchase on Oct. 16, however tickets for the Hyannis route won’t be available until Oct. 23.

“New service to Hyannis, expanded service from New York, and more international service grows the largest global network in the United States, connecting more cities than any other U.S. carrier, for a summer like no other,"  Brian Znotins, American's Senior Vice President of Network and Schedule Planning said in a statement.

The airline also shared that it will launch a new service from Charlotte (CLT) to Vancouver, Canada (YVR), also on June 5, providing the only nonstop route between North Carolina and British Columbia.

In addition to the New England and Canada routes, American is also relaunching its route from (DCA) to Bermuda on April 4, 2024 for the first time since 2019.

The new route additions come after American also announced new service to Europe including Copenhagen, Naples, and Nice.
