Amber Tamblyn’s Tribute to Her ‘Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants’ Family Is Peak Friendship

While we keep our fingers crossed for news about the long-rumored third installment of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, as well as the much buzzed-about musical adaptation, we have the ladies’ real-life bond to keep us inspired.

Blake Lively, America Ferrera, Alexis Bledel, and Amber Tamblyn have been close since first meeting on the set of the 2005 classic film, even keeping in touch via group text and hosting regular playdates for their kids. This past Friday, March 8, Tamblyn continued to prove just how close they are when she posted a sweet and empowering tribute to her sisterhood on International Women’s Day.

Taking to Instagram, the 35-year-old shared a photo of herself alongside her on-screen and IRL besties, all smiling from ear to ear. “Today on International Women’s Day, I’m giving a shout-out to the women I have been through hell and back with. The women I don’t get to see enough, but when I do, we pick right back up where we left off,” she continued.

“The women I have held and the women who have held me, both literally and metaphorically. The women I have acted with, got in fights with, wiped up a dance floor with, cried at each other’s weddings with, kissed each other’s brand new babies with, drank a LOT of wine with, had sleepovers with, had meltdowns with, and had life altering experiences with.”

Tamblyn went on to tip her hat to “all the sisterhoods out there, who have done the same for each other,” before encouraging her followers to “tag your favorite girlfriends and women in your family in the comments below and tell them why they matter in this world.”
