Amber Rose Breaks Down During SlutWalk, Forgives Kanye West
Months after announcing her plans to hold a “SlutWalk” in Los Angeles, Kanye West’s outspoken, buzz cut-sporting ex, Amber Rose, fulfilled her promise this past Saturday.
According to the Los Angeles Times (via CNN), the L.A. rally—a reaction to the unfair “slut-shaming” of women based on their clothing, profession, looks, or actions—was attended by several hundred people, most of whom were female. Many attendants sported lingerie-like ensembles, with several going totally topless. Rose, 31, wore a lacy black negligee, sheer thigh highs, and black boots.
When it came time to make her speech, Rose—herself, a former stripper, who now has a son with rapper Wiz Khalifa—didn’t hold back. Just 14-years-old when she was first slut-shamed (for a sexual act she didn’t even do), she was then tormented throughout high school and earned a reputation for being “easy.”

She went on to recount her two-year relationship with West (who later said he “had to take 30 showers“ after dating Rose), and broke down in tears while reminiscing about her strained marriage to Khalifa—at which point her mother quickly ran onstage to provide her with some tissues. Finally, she announces that she’s ready to forgive both of them for their ignorance—and urges the crowd watching her to do the same with all those who’ve brought them down.
It feels like a genuine, breakthrough moment for Rose, who, until now, has never really had the opportunity to share her side of the story. Watch her speak in full, above.
