Amber Heard Wore a Swim Cap to the World Premiere of Aquaman

Amber Heard's usually-blonde hair is a fiery red color in the new Aquaman movie, but at the film's world premiere in London on Monday, that hair was nowhere to be seen. The actor made an especially on-theme style choice by wearing what can only be described as a fancy-as-hell swim cap.

Heard, whose look channels the Little Mermaid in her role as undersea queen Mera, arrived on the red carpet wearing a beautifully embroidered green and gold gown with a plunging neckline and partially open back. But while the dress was absolutely incredible, everyone's eyes were drawn to the matching Esther Williams-esque swim cap, complete with under-chin strap.

"You know, I saw this dress walk down the red carpet in Paris at the Valentino Haute Couture show and I just — my jaw dropped. And I looked over at my stylist who was sitting a few seats away, and she just mouthed to me, 'Oh my god,' and I was like yes. I just knew," she told ET. "I mean, I'm wearing a swim cap, for god's sake. I wanted to make a splash." Heard rolled her eyes at her own joke, understandably.

The look was, in fact, sent down the runway exactly as Heard wore it — complete with highly impractical swim cap. (Because really, that thing is probably worth thousands of dollars and won't do a damn thing to protect your hair from salt or pool water.)

Ironically, when Heard posted a photo of the look to her Instagram, she tagged her glam squad — including hairstylist Jon Chapman. Hey, someone had it tuck her hair into the cap, right? For all we know, there's actually a really cute updo under there.
