Amber Heard Is the New Spokesperson for L'Oréal Paris

The actor and philanthropist is going global.

On Friday, it was announced that Amber Heard would be a new global spokesperson for L'Oréal Paris, joining the ranks of icons including Julianne Moore, Camila Cabello, and Eva Longoria.

“I feel like these women represent a voice, a power, a movement, an opinion,” she told People about being in the crew of powerhouse women.

For Heard, being a part of this global beauty brand isn’t just about promoting it, but also about promoting an empowering message for women worldwide. “Over the years I’ve always thought to not just be an actor,” she said in a statement announcing the partnership, “but to use my voice as a platform for good to make the world a slightly, slightly better place and empower women the best that I can.”

Heard is pursuing that goal in a number of ways. In addition to being a spokesperson for L'Oréal Paris, the actor is an advocate for gender equality in Hollywood, children’s and LGBTQ rights, and even donated in the seven figures to the American Civil Liberties Union and the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles earlier this year.

“This is a brand I could identify with and has an inherent message that is more than just selling beauty products,” she continued. “Now, more than ever, I feel like their tagline, ‘Because You’re Worth It,’ resonates today.” The specific products Heard will be promoting have not yet been announced, but we’re sure to see her face all over the aisles of the drugstore at our next haul.

But Heard’s favorite beauty advice doesn’t have to do with a product at all. She told People that the best thing a person can do to feel great is to hold their chin up high. ”If you own it, you can’t help but radiate it and the world responds to that. I know it sounds obtuse, but that seems like the best beauty advice I could teach my 16-year-old self.”
