According to reports, Amber Heard has been cut from Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and her character, Mera, would be recast. The source notes, "Warner Bros. decided to recast Amber Heard‘s role after screen testing the movie. They are going to be doing reshoots with Jason Momoa and Nicole Kidman."

The latest rumor comes after reports that a meeting between higher-ups was recently held to make the decision of removing Heard from the Aquaman sequel. Many believe that Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Entertainment are looking to distance themselves from Amber Heard, following the verdict of her highly public defamation case with ex-husband Johnny Depp.

A spokesperson for the actress has come out to deny the rumor of Heard being cut from Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is now expected to open in theaters come March 17, 2023.
