Amber Heard Reflects on 'Unforgettable' Return to the Spotlight

Amber Heard is speaking about her return to the spotlight!

The actress has remained mostly mum over the last year or so, but it looks like she's back on the promotional trail for her upcoming film, In the Fire, which premiered at the Taormina Film Festival in Taormina, Italy.

"Thank you for such an incredibly warm reception at the Taormina Film festival for my latest movie In the Fire," she wrote on Instagram, alongside a photo from the screening in which she grinned excitedly. "It was an unforgettable weekend. #InTheFire."

It's the first time she's posted on Instagram in over a year, aside from a statement made about six months ago, when she settled the defamation case brought against her by ex Johnny Depp.

She's remained largely quiet since the end of the bombshell trial, moving to Spain with her 2-year-old daughter, Oonagh, and stepping back from the spotlight. Rumors took hold that Heard was quitting Hollywood in the wake of the verdict. She reportedly sold her Yucca Valley, Calif. home last July and moved just outside of Madrid.

More recently, Spanish paparazzi caught up with her. She spoke with the reporters in fluent Spanish, stating, "I love Spain so much." She confirmed she plans to stay in Spain for at least the time being, adding, "Yes, I hope so. Yes, yes, I love living here." She also revealed that she had film projects in the works—perhaps referring to In the Fire, which IMDB categorizes as a thriller.

The film's synopsis, according to the database, is: "A doctor from New York travels to a remote plantation in the 1890s to care for a disturbed boy who seems to have inexplicable abilities. She begins treating the child, but in doing so ignites a war of science versus religion with the local priest who believes the boy is possessed by the Devil and is the reason for all the village's woes."

It doesn't appear as though a formal release date has been announced for In the Fire thus far.
