Over the last few months, chances are, you’ve done a lot more home cooking than usual. Maybe you’ve gone through a few cookbooks or created an exciting recipe. While cooking is fun, you sometimes end up with a funky smell on your hands afterward.

You know, it happens when you’re chopping garlic and onions, as these foods often leave behind a strong odor that lingers even after you’re done eating. So, to keep your hands from smelling like garlic, Amco Houseworks has created a special solution.

Made of lightweight, stainless steel, the Rub-a-Way bar is designed to remove bad smells. To use, simply rub it on your hands as you would soap and let the bar do its “magic.”

According to the product description, the molecules in the steel “bind with the sulfur molecules” on your fingers, thereby transferring the molecules and smell from your hands to the metal.

It can be used with or without water, and is ideal to use after working with onions, fish, or garlic.

Also, it’s important to note that the bar is primarily classified as a “scent neutralizer” and that it’s not meant to replace “actual soap for proper cleaning,” according to the brand.

For many Amazon shoppers, the product appears to be a home run. In fact, it’s currently listed as one of Amazon’s Choice items, with over 4,000 customer ratings. One reviewer even raved the bar is a go-to for their fisherman husband.

“My fisherman husband uses this now instead of the 10 lemons he used to use after cleaning his catch,” the reviewer wrote. “Works like a charm for fishy smell[s] as well as kitchen herbs and garlic smells on hands.”

Other shoppers pointed out how effective the bar is to use on the rest of the body. One Amazon user, who suffers from “horrible arm pit odor,” said that it helped remove their “BO.”

“I tried the bar by itself, it seemed to work,” they wrote. “I threw a little bit of Irish spring soap on it, and a few swipes later the BO is gone. I’m amazed and so thankful! This is for real!”

However, one reviewer mentioned how the bar left their hands with a “metallic smell.” Ultimately, it wasn’t a deal-breaker.
