Bring on the bell-bottom pants, frayed jeans, and feathered hair—because the '70s are making a comeback!

At least, that seems to be the case with Daisy Jones & the Six —an upcoming rock n' roll series whose recent trailer took viewers on a wondrous trip of music, love, and drama. Adapted from the novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid, the new series will premiere on Amazon Prime Video.

Daisy Jones & the Six follows the origin of a fictional rock band named The Six—a '70s group that consists of two women and four men. (If you think that sounds a bit like Fleetwood Mac, you're not alone!). The band's lead is Daisy and is played by Riley Keough (who happens to be the granddaughter of Elvis Presley).

Back in March 2019, the novel of the same name was on everyone's booklist. We can accredit this to Reese Witherspoon, who instantly added the novel to her famous reading group, Reese’s Book Club. Witherspoon's production company, Hello Sunshine, partnered with Amazon to help bring the story to the small screen.

What is 'Daisy Jones & the Six' about?

As previously stated, Daisy Jones & the Six will center around the semi-fictional '70s band, The Six, and popular solo singer Daisy Jones. When the two join forces, they find themselves creating one of the most acclaimed albums of the '70s. But as you can expect, the journey to the top was anything but smooth. Loads of drama, forbidden romances, and everything in between take place—ultimately leading to the band's sudden end.

It's worth noting that the book is said to be loosely inspired by Stevie Nicks and her time in Fleetwood Mac, but The Six is not a real band.

Will the show follow the book?

Those who've read the book are probably anticipating the show's release, more or less to fact check its accuracy. Given Reese Witherspoon's many book-to-television (and movie) adaptations, and the positive reputation they have for staying true to the original story—we can expect the same for Daisy Jones & the Six. Also, author Taylor Jenkins Reid is said to have produced the show alongside Reese Witherspoon, adding the series' credibility.

Who's in the cast?

Riley Keough takes the lead as Daisy Jones, the show's fiery, and talented lead singer. She'll star alongside Sam Claflin (remember Finnick from The Hunger Games movies?), who will play Billy Dunne, a lead musician in The Six. Billy is in a relationship when we meet him, which only adds to the show's drama factor when he takes a keen interest in Daisy.

Additionally, Daisy Jones & the Six sees Suki Waterhouse, Will Harrison, Sebastian Chacon, Josh Whitehouse, Timothy Olyphant, Rod Reyes, and Camila Morrone as a part of its cast.

Is there a trailer?

Yep! The trailer for Daisy Jones & the Six gives us a dose of what's to come: The band's rough start, sudden success, and melodies worth melting for.
