Amazon partners with Anti-Cruelty for Saturday adoption event in Chicago

CHICAGO — Amazon is teaming up with a Chicago animal shelter to help find pets forever homes.

Amazon and Anti-Cruelty will host the “Kindness Delivered: Amazon Adoption Event” on Saturday, May 11, from noon to 7 p.m. at the Anti-Cruelty River North Adoption Center.

All adoption fees will be waived. New pet owners will also receive a $50 Amazon gift card.

Lydia Krupinski, vice president of Mission Impact for Anti-Cruelty and Sarah Glavin, head of Community Affairs for Amazon Chicago, joined WGN Evening News at 4 p.m. on Monday to discuss the “Kindness Delivered: Amazon Adoption Event.”

“This is National Pet Month, and we are working across the country with organizations that are focused on animal welfare and really asking a lot of questions about what is needed in the community,” Glavin told WGN’s Ben Bradley. “We know that pets are family.”

Amazon Pet Days, essentially a 48-hour Prime Day for pets, is on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 7-8.
