Get your wallets ready: Amazon Prime Day is almost here! And this year, it's a full two days of deals, so you can feel slightly less stressed about grabbing all the things at once-or at least, adding them into your cart before they're gone. While most of the details will be kept under wraps until July 15 and 16 (the official Prime Days!), here's everything you need to know about the shopping extravaganza before placing an order.

But first, you've got to be an Amazon Prime member. You'll be treated to insane perks all year long-plus these 48 hours of shopping bliss.

What is it?

Amazon's annual shopping holiday! Prime shoppers (have you signed up yet?) gain access to more than one million deals across nearly every category. Yes, you can sign up for a 30-day trial and cancel after the holiday, but of course Amazon is banking on you falling in love with the wonder of same-day shipping enough to keep your membership to the site.

Either way, come July 15, Prime shoppers can save on everything from TVs to air fryers to coffee makers. It's a madhouse-like, possibly even crazier than Black Friday or Christmastime-so make your list and check it twice before you head to Amazon.

How is it different from last year?

For one, it's a full 48 hours long, compared to 36 last year. There are more countries with access to the sales, too (U.S., U.K., Spain, Singapore, Netherlands, Mexico, Luxembourg, Japan, Italy, India, Germany, France, China, Canada, Belgium, Austria, Australia, and the United Arab Emirates).

Amazon is also showcasing smaller businesses this year. For the first time, there's a page dedicated specifically to Prime Day deals from "U.S.-based innovators, artisans, and entrepreneurs."

How do deals work?

While you can find allll the deals from the Amazon Prime Day landing page-and you can check back for more curated kitchen and dining picks from Delish-there are a few different kinds of discounts to keep an eye out for.

  • Lightening deals: As the name indicates, these go FAST, and they're limited to a set amount of time. Per Amazon, these deals will include "jaw-dropping prices on top-tier brands" and will include "some of the most exciting products of the year." Check in frequently throughout the 48-hour event to see what lightening deals are on sale!

  • Spotlight deals: These sales are limited by number of product available-once they're gone, they're gone. Like lightening deals, these tend to sell out quickly.

  • Amazon Launch: Like the Air Fryer you see above and this Blue Diamond cookware set, there are some "Launch" products made specifically for Prime Day. Amazon says there are thousands of these-while some will be available elsewhere after the holiday, this is the first chance to shop the Launches and get free or even same-day shipping, depending on the item.

  • Whole Foods: Your local Whole Foods may be a little nutty come July 15-last year, shoppers saw major discounts in the grocery store on Prime Day. While Amazon hasn't announced any specific deals yet, the company did say offers will take place "online and in-store."
