Amazon announced in June it was buying Whole Foods, and since then, the company has lowered prices on some groceries (though some of those discounts have since gone away). It's giving customers hope that the store's Whole Paycheck reputation may be no more, and things seem to be going in that hopeful direction. TechCrunch reports that Amazon's deal with Whole Foods is helping customers get lower prices on Thanksgiving dinner this year.

Whole Foods announced Wednesday that it was lowering prices on Thanksgiving staples like turkey, canned pumpkin, potatoes, and sweet potatoes. Other items with lower prices include boneless skinless chicken breasts, raw peeled shrimp, broccoli, pasture raised eggs, and salad mixes.

They're also lowering prices on brand-name products like Tom's of Maine toothpaste, eggs and milk from Organic Valley, beans from Eden Foods, rice from Lundberg Family Farms, broths from Pacific Foods, and yogurt from companies like Chobani, Siggis, and Fage.

But the best Thanksgiving deal is for Whole Foods' turkeys. The store's organic turkey will sell for $3.49 a pound, and its no-antibiotic turkey will go for $2.49 a pound. And if you have Amazon Prime, those prices are even lower-$2.99 and $1.99 per pound, respectively.

All you have to do is print out a coupon from Amazon to bring to the store, and look for the orange "Special Savings" signs near the turkeys in the store. Whole Foods will also let you reserve a turkey online before heading to the store to pick it up. You can go to amazon.com/turkey to find out more information on the deal, which runs through November 26.
