Amazon Just Launched Its Holiday Store That Includes a New Alexa Feature

According to a couple of well-known retailers, the holiday shopping season has officially begun. First, Walmart kicked off its deals in October, and now, Amazon is following suit. The online destination just launched its Holiday Store for 2019.

Beginning Friday, November 1, and continuing throughout the holiday season, shoppers will find new deals on a variety of items every single day on the website. There will also be "special deals and deep discounts on top products across fashion, toys, and home," up until Thursday, November 21, according to a news release. Some of those deals you can shop right now include 30% off Instant Pots and 30% off Cuisinart grills. Plus, there will be even bigger savings on Black Friday and Cyber Monday that have yet to be announced.

Along with a selection of curated gift guides for electronics, beauty, fashion, and more, Amazon is launching a few new features to make the holidays go as smooth as possible—especially for Prime members. Although members already enjoy the benefit of free two-day shipping, they'll now be able to select free one-day and even-same day shipping—with no minimum purchase amount—at checkout. Prime members can also browse the Prime Video Holiday collection, which features some of our favorite classic Christmas movies including It's a Wonderful Life, Elf, and A Christmas Story.

However, one of the best perks Amazon is offering is for Alexa users. If you happen to have tense moments creep up between family members at this year's gatherings, you can simply say, "Alexa, change the subject." She will then "provide a family-friendly topic to quell any disagreements at the dinner table." Depending on how your loved ones get along, that option could come in handy beyond the holidays.

Although Christmas shopping seemed to come a bit early this year, there's actually one less week between Thanksgiving and Christmas than there was last year, so it's a good idea to get started on your holiday shopping. Plus, once you take care of the gifts early, you'll be able to spend the rest of your time making memories with friends and family.
