With just a few clicks, you can win completely free items on Amazon in seconds—and get deep discounts. Win win!

Seriously, the online shopping giant has an entire page devoted to giveaways. And all you have to do is pick what you’d like a chance to win, click and you’re done. And if you don’t win, you can score major deals on those items.

The giveaway page has something for everyone — items include fashion pieces like briefcases, sunglasses and shoes, electronics like dash cams, charging stands and Bluetooth headphones, and home goods like mattress toppers, knife sets and cooling units.

How it works

Basically, brands can sign up to put their product up for grabs — for them, it’s a good marketing technique, for you, it’s an excellent, fun deal.

Once they’ve chosen a product to give away, they then decide what format the giveaway should be in, enter-to-win or first come, first served.

The items are listed on the Amazon Giveaway landing page, and all shoppers like you have to do is click on anything that catches your eye. Entering to win is free, and all you need is an Amazon account, which hopefully you have by now since Prime Day is right around the corner.

You can enter into as many giveaways as you’d like, but each item only allows you to make one entry. Don’t get too down on yourself if you don’t win, though — the majority of sweepstakes come with additional sales and discounts for entrants who don’t win.

So, even if you don’t get that blender you want for free, you can still get it at a discounted price, just by entering.

Deep discounts

One of the best things about the giveaway page — aside from the chance of winning items for free — is the fact that so many sellers offer discounts for the items featured.

So, if you don’t win an item, you’ll automatically get the discount. All you have to do is add the item to your cart, and the discount will be automatically applied. It’s so simple, and an incredible second-place reward for those who don’t get lucky.

Right now, if you enter to win a Housmile Airfryer, you’ll automatically receive a 15 percent discount. For this Pro Kitchen Chef’s Knife, you’ll receive 40 percent off upon entry. Or, you can get 30 percent off this bundle of Instant Pot accessories.

How to qualify

If you’re 18 or older, have an Amazon account and live in the U.S., you don’t have to do anything — other than click on what you want — to qualify for a chance. Some items require watching a short video or following the brand on a social media platform before entering, but those are the only additional steps.

To enter, all you have to do is click on the animated Amazon box graphic next to the photo of the item you want. Your status (win or lose) will show up in mere seconds.

If you don’t win, you can automatically qualify for a discount on the product if the seller opted for this option (the majority do). So, you can still save a decent chunk of change even if you don’t get something entirely for free.

(FYI: Rhode Island residents are not able to enter giveaways valued at more than $5,000. If you win a high-cost item, you might be required to input tax data or your Social Security number when you receive a confirmation).

If you win an item, you just need to enter your shipping information, and you’ll receive an e-mail confirmation.

As stated above, if you don’t win, you’ll automatically receive the discount a seller is offering on the giveaway item. All you have to do is add it to your checkout cart, and the discount will appear. Just like that, you get automatic savings!

Are there any extra costs?

There are no extra costs to entering a giveaway, including shipping, since the sellers cover the shipping fees!

But, if you lose a giveaway and decide to buy the item with the discount available, you’ll obviously have to pay at checkout.

Are there any hacks for winning?

  • Since you can’t continuously refresh and re-enter a contest you have a particular interest in, we recommend subscribing to the e-mail service entirely devoted to giveaways, which will alert your inbox of the day’s latest items up for grabs.

  • Also, think of your own browsing habits — often the last dozen or so pages will go unnoticed since the majority of people will only browse through the first few. So, if you’re feeling adventurous, start entering giveaways on the last page and work your way down. You never know!

  • More than 3,700 items have been given away this week (so far). And, thousands of items are added to the giveaway page each day. So, don’t fret if you have a bit of a losing streak. There are going to be millions of more opportunities for you to win.

  • After covering Amazon for a while, we know how much fun the business has on Prime Day. We suspect there might be some pretty cool items up for grabs on the giveaway page during this time, so mark the dates on your calendar and get clicking!
