Amanda Stanton Drove From California to Arizona to Get Her Hair Done—And People Have Thoughts

Amanda Stanton is the latest member of Bachelor Nation to make headlines during the coronavirus pandemic—though they’re not likely the kind she was hoping for. Most of the gossip has centered around Pilot Pete’s various relationship moves and more recently Hannah Brown’s use of the N-word on social media. But now Stanton’s decision to drive from California to Arizona to get her (and her daughter’s) hair done is creating a lot of conversation.

Per E! News, on Monday (May 18) Stanton posted on her Instagram Stories about her trip. “Drove very very far to get my hair done & may have peed on the side of a dirt road because I’m scared to use public restrooms,” she wrote. “But it was worth it.”

She also posted a photo of the end results with the caption, “Never been so early to a hair appointment in my life 💇🏼‍♀️ @hairby_chrissy.”

Some people in the comments section questioned her decision—though she just turned off the comments. “Was it worth gettin your hair done to travel 6 hours oh yeah you said it was. Your [sic] so vain, beauty over health right Amanda,” one person wrote.

Stanton went on to defend her decision with a post to her Stories, saying she and her daughter had already tested negative for COVID-19. “We’re heading home and going to quarantine again before we see family or anyone,” she said. ”Some might think this is going to great lengths to get my hair done but honestly, I have nothing else to do and isolating for a couple weeks when I get home was something I was willing to do. To each their own! I’m confident that I’ve been making responsible choices during this time and am proud of myself!”

As for why she shared it publicly, Stanton says she has nothing to hide. “I choose to be honest with you guys when I could choose not to be. I’ve seen so many people traveling by plane, hanging out in groups etc and doing much worse and not receiving ANY hate,” she said. “I feel really good about doing my part during this pandemic. That’s all!”
