There are no words to describe the joy experienced when Amanda Seyfried and Meryl Streep reunited on the red carpet at the 2024 Golden Globes.

So, we'll just let Seyfried's face do the talking.

At the event, Streep spotted Seyfried posing on the red carpet and surprised her mid-photo for an impromptu Mamma Mia! reunion. Amanda, who plays Streep's daughter, Sophie, in the film franchise, couldn't contain her excitement and squealed at the sight of Meryl's arrival. The two embraced, and the Oscar-winning actress gave Seyfried a quick kiss on the cheek before moving out of the camera's frame.

Both ladies looked glamorous for Sunday night's award show, with Seyfried opting for a black velvet Armani gown that featured a strapless silhouette and a large bow embellished with magenta and black crystals at the neckline. She matched her eyeshadow to her dress, sweeping her lids in a shimmery purple shade. Meryl also went sparkly with her outfit, pairing a black sequined jacket with a matching maxi skirt.

Rumors of a third installment of Mamma Mia! began circulating after the sequel's release in 2018. And most of the cast — including Seyfried and Streep — are open to making another film. “Every single person in that movie would say yes in a heartbeat because we want to hang out with each other," Seyfried told Collider in 2020.

Streep shared a similar sentiment while speaking with Vogue back in September, telling the magazine that she's "totally there."
