Amanda Bynes Is Engaged but She Might Need Her Mother’s Permission Before Marrying

From Cosmopolitan

  • Amanda Bynes announced she got engaged over Valentine’s Day weekend.

  • She posted several pictures of her fiancé and the ring on Instagram.

  • Allegedly, she may not be able to get married without her mother’s permission, since Lynn Bynes is her conservator.

Over the weekend, Amanda Bynes took to Instagram with a picture of a gigantic diamond ring to announce that she got engaged. She captioned the post, “Engaged to tha love of my life.”

Amanda has never posted about her fiancé on social media before, so you’re forgiven if you missed that she was even dating someone. But the super sleuths over at Us Weekly identified him as Paul Michael, and their sources say he is “very goth.” TBD on how they met, how long they’ve been dating, or how he proposed to her. Basically, all we know is that she seems pretty excited because she posted about him twice since updating her fans on her relationship status. (She captioned one of the photos with “Lover” while the other was posted with no further explanation.)

As lovely as this news may be, Neama Rahmani, president of West Coast Trial Lawyers, told Us Weekly that Amanda’s mom and conservator, Lynn Bynes, may have the final say on whether Amanda actually gets married. Rahmani explained, “As Amanda’s conservator, her mother has responsibility over her daughter’s decision-making, including whether or not to allow her to marry.” Rahmani also suggested that if Amanda’s mother doesn’t approve of her marriage, she could petition the court to grant an annulment.
