In 2015, Amal Clooney attended the Golden Globe Awards with her husband George who was being presented with a lifetime achievement award. Tina Fey introduced Clooney to the stage, but not before giving a shout-out to his new wife. “Amal is a human rights lawyer who worked on the Enron case, was an adviser to Kofi Annan regarding Syria, and was selected for a three-person U.N. commission. So tonight her husband is getting a lifetime-achievement award.” The moment was touching and sweet, but also spoke to the couple’s complementary fashion dynamic, both on and off the red carpet. Be it a glamorous movie premiere in Hollywood or a conference for world leaders at the United Nations, the pair are always stylishly sync.

Amal and George Clooney made their first joint public appearance at a benefit in Florence, Italy back in September 2014. It's here that the world got a first glimpse at the emerald cut diamond engagement ring. Their fabulous wedding would take place later that month along the canals in Venice, Italy, and the beautiful bride wowed with a stunning wardrobe that included custom made pieces from Giambattista Valli, Oscar de la Renta, and Stella McCartney. The groom looked dapper in a traditional tuxedo by Giorgio Armani.

However, it was the Amal and George Clooney’s first Met Gala red carpet together in 2015 that arguably solidified them as one of the world’s most stylish couples. Dressed in a custom made strapless dress by John Galliano for Maison Margiela Artisanal, Mrs. Clooney had all eyes on her, while her partner cut a dashing figure in traditional tails.

Above, a look back at some of the couple’s best moments together.

Clooney’s horsehair wig in her home office. “You get it when you’re a really junior lawyer making no money,” she says. “You walk out having spent $1,000 on something that’s going to make you look really bad—especially if you’re a brunette.”
“She’s the professional, and I’m the amateur,” says George, who’s done his own humanitarian work. “I get to see someone at the absolute top of their game doing their job better than anybody I’ve ever seen.”
Clooney delivered a plea on behalf of Murad to the U.N. in September 2016. “I am ashamed that states are failing to prevent or even punish genocide because they find that their own interests get in the way.” On Clooney: Fendi sweater. Beladora earrings.
