For an evening out at Chiltern Firehouse in London on March 6, Clooney added a bit of intrigue to her otherwise simple outfit by masterfully mixing textures. The 46-year-old styled her cream-colored dress with a fluffy white teddy coat, over-the-knee black crocodile boots, and a cranberry quilted leather Louis Vuitton bag.

As usual, Clooney’s auburn hair was perfectly polished, hanging loose in bouncy curls around her shoulders. She kept the rest of her glam simple, with just a mauve lip and a splash of peachy color on her cheeks.

A touch of the unexpected is an Amal Clooney signature. Whether on the red carpet or on date night with her husband, actor George Clooney, the human rights lawyer is always finding creative ways to add an extra oomph to classic silhouettes. At the Venice Film Festival last year, for example, she wore a black-and-white shift dress, which she paired with the season’s hottest accessories: a 16Arlington baguette bag and sheer slingback kitten heels.
