Amal Clooney has been keeping out of the spotlight recently. Her last major sighting was in March at the People’s Postcode Lottery Charity Gala in Edinburgh, Scotland, alongside her husband George. (Yes, the dream couple remains in fine form.) But this week, Clooney has re-emerged solo, and she’s back in action. The human rights lawyer was seen taking New York City: Yesterday, she spoke at the United Nations on behalf of victims of sexual violence, and today, she hit the streets for a day of (likely) more meetings. And clearly her time away from the paparazzi has done her some good, because Clooney is looking better than ever.

The classic piece could have easily been missed, but with its expensive-looking fabric—not to mention her movie star-worthy sunglasses and shiny, commercial-level hair—the frock looked especially elegant. Flash forward to today, and Clooney continued on with her gobsmacking chicness. She went the all-white route this time, wearing a simple dress by Zac Posen with a structured jacket, slightly cropped at the waist. She accessorized with neutral pieces such as a light brown leather handbag, beige suede pumps, and round black sunglasses. Her closing statement? Veering classic doesn’t have to be boring. In fact, it can be oodles more impactful than any skin-baring number. Case closed.
