Amal Clooney has found herself in hot water over her 2018 Met Gala outfit. According to Page Six, the human rights lawyer reportedly angered designer Tom Ford's team and influential fashion figures at Vogue after she made a last-minute decision on her outfit.

George Clooney's wife made a dramatic appearance at The Met in a floral Richard Quinn look -- a metallic corset with black pants and a dramatic floral overskirt peppered with red roses throughout.

Once inside the venue, she switched into the outfit she was supposed to wear originally -- a floor-skimming Tom Ford dress in a deep crimson color that just screamed *Amal.* The shimmering gown channeled a stained glass window, on par with the night's "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination" theme.

According to sources, Amal told Tom Ford's team about the last-minute change, despite Vogue telling her to stick to the original plan: "They were annoyed, obviously, but they were gracious, and said it was fine to go with [another designer], but they would prefer that Amal not wear the dress at all if she wasn’t going to wear it on the Met Ball red carpet."

Tom Ford's team was hoping for another A-lister to wear the stunning gown at another major occasion. But when Amal ignored their wishes, the fashion house was both stunned and furious.

In an interview on "The Late Show," Vogue's Anna Wintour revealed that Amal insisted on changing gowns in the museum's gift shop. A photo posted by Stella McCartney showed Amal in the Tom Ford gown that fit her like a total glove. For more on the Met Gala, watch the video above.
