Get ready to cry a river: Alyssa Milano—actress, ‘80s child star, and avid professional sports fan—posted a throwback Instagram, Thursday, that’s sure to do a number on the ole’ heartstrings. Just one look, and we think you’ll see why.

Or… we’ll just tell you why: Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake are in it. TOGETHER. (Milano and her pal Alaa Khaled are there, too.)

Though the photo is undated, some simple sleuthing tells us that it was taken between 1999 and 2002. How do we know this? For one thing, it contains both a velvet bucket hat and burgundy fedora being worn non-ironically. But more importantly, those are the years in which #popsmosttalkedaboutcouple coexisted in perfect, choreographed, auto-tuned harmony. We never knew how good we had it.

Making the whole sitch even more depressing is how normal and happy Pinky and Stinky look, all smiley and loved up. Who’d have guessed that, not so long after, Brit-Brit would go and break everyone’s fav *NSYNCer’s poor little heart… (No offense, Chris Kirkpatrick.)
