It's always Girl Scout Cookie season with their flavors and scents featured in these products

Girl Scout Cookies season ended in April. But new products mean you can get your Thin Mint or Samoas fix in other ways.

It’s getting easier to get a taste of Girl Scout Cookies year round. The floor of the premiere U.S. candy and snack show makes the case for that.

The Sweets & Snacks Expo, currently taking place at the Indiana Convention Center, is where the industries show off their newest products.

And Girl Scout Cookie flavors are pretty well represented.

  • The Girl Scouts Lemonade Snappers, shortbread crisps with lemon truffle centers, was an Innovation Awards finalist this year.

  • Edward Marc Chocolatier introduced its Girl Scouts Coconut Caramel Bites, based on the Caramel deLites/Samoas cookie.

  • Muddy Bites waffle cone snack brand added a Girl Scout Thin Mints flavor.

  • Chex Mix Muddy Buddies introduced a Girl Scouts Thin Mints flavor coated Chex snack.

  • CakeBites released its Girl Scouts Thin Mints and Coconut Caramel-flavored cakes.

In addition, Little Bites Girl Scout Toast-Yay! Muffins are a limited-edition product available through July; and Kraft Heinz’ Jell-O Girl Scout Pudding Cups recently hit store shelves in Girl Scouts Thin Mints and Coconut Caramel flavors.

Girl Scout cookie collaborations

The Girl Scouts brand has been attached to GNC’s protein blends; Dairy Queen’s Thin Mints Blizzard; the Dunkin' bottled iced coffee in Thin Mints, Coconut Caramel and S'mores flavors; and Weston Foods’ mini cupcakes in Thin Mints, Lemon and S'mores flavors.

“A lot of these collaborations kind of came about because consumers obviously love Girl Scout cookies so much,” said Sierra Stivala, senior marketing manager at Earthbound Brands, the licensing agent for Girl Scouts of the USA since 2019. “We've been working with companies to see how we can expand it beyond the cookie season and kind of find new and exciting ways to give them the flavors.”

Native, a subsidiary of Cincinnati-based Procter & Gamble, recently rolled out deodorants, body washes and other personal care items online and in Target stores in Girl Scout Cookie scents, including Thin Mint and Peanut Butter.

The brand also is making moves outside of the food and drink spaces.

At the top of the year, Native released its Girl Scouts Collection of deodorant, body spray, body wash, shampoo and conditioner at Target and online. The scents include Caramel Coconut, Trefoils, Peanut Butter, Lemon and Thin Mints.

Then it expanded into cosmetics with the limited-edition collection of about 20 Hard Candy beauty products, including cookie-scented eyeshadow and flavored lip oils.

Native: Girl Scout Cookie Season is back which means... deodorant?

Past collaborations have been with Kurt Adler on holiday ornaments and with K-Swiss on shoes inspired by Thin Mints, Coconut Caramel, and Trefoils/Shortbread cookies.

“We’re just kind of finding different ways to interact with the consumers who love the products so much; and finding new ways to reach them and give them an opportunity to tie back to that Girl Scout,” Stivala said. “There’s nice nostalgia for a lot of people who were Girl Scouts at one point.”
