One of the most adorable festivals of all is the "Alpabzug" or "Desalpe," a traditional Swiss celebration that marks the descent of cattle from the high mountain pastures to the valleys in the Swiss Alps. In a video posted in early September, you can see this festival of these cows heading into town.

And their floral head dresses are just spectacular!

The video posted by TikTok user @Yvetteinswitz explains that the cows who produce the most milk lead the herd. It's just so gorgeous! The annual event takes place in late summer or early fall, usually around September. It marks the end of the grazing season in the high alpine pastures when cattle are brought down to lower altitudes for the winter. Switzerland is home to nearly 590,000 milking cows, which means that you can find some pretty amazing cheese at these festivals too!

TikTok users are totally enchanted by this, and @Babydemons comments, "I’m menopausal and just cried about cows with flower crowns." LOL! @Sapphire adds, "Please tell the ladies they look beautiful in their flower hats." They really do! @Ella asks, "Wow. Are their ears ok with all the tolling of those huuuuge bells???  They sure are beauties!"

The video creator made a follow up video explaining the bells in more detail.

Yvette explains that the giant bells are only worn on rare festival days and on normal days the cows wear a much smaller bell for grazing. So for some of the few commenters who were calling this animal abuse, the cows are just fine.

Except those who didn't have as pretty crowns as the other cows, those cows were sad. Just kidding. This is for sure one of those places we all need to see sometime, it's just so beautiful.
