  • Allison Janney, 61, recently opened up about why she’s never been married or had kids on the Drew Barrymore Show.

  • “I’d love to eventually find someone to share my life with, but if it doesn’t happen, I think I’ll be just fine,” the Mom actress explained.

  • Janney says she’s using this time in her life to figure herself out—but she’s not against settling down with the right person.

Allison Janney is single, child-free, and loving it, thank you very much. The Mom actress never found quite the right time or partner to settle down, she revealed during a recent appearance on the Drew Barrymore Show—not that she necessarily wanted that in the first place.

“I wasn’t ever really confident that I wanted to have kids,” Janney, 61, said. “I think if I had found the right guy [who wanted to have kids] at the right time, I probably would have.”

But Janney isn’t dwelling on the past or what could have been—in fact, she’s thankful she didn’t end up becoming a real-life mom. “I would rather regret not having kids than have kids and regret that,” she told Barrymore, who is a single mom.

“I’m OK with it. I really am, at this time in my life, getting to know who I am and what I want,” she continued. “I’d love to eventually find someone to share my life with, but if it doesn’t happen, I think I’ll be just fine—but it would be nice.”

She also says she’s virtually dating, but not in the way you might expect. “My latest crush is Rip on Yellowstone,” Janney said with a laugh.

During the same interview, Janney also opened up about going totally natural with her gray hair, explaining “how amazing it is to feel free.”

“To be able to run my hands through my hair and hopefully sometime a man will be able to run his hands through my hair and appreciate it, it’s just heaven,” she said.

Now that’s an attitude we can get behind!
