Allegiant launches summer seasonal routes with more nonstop flights from Des Moines

Want to start your summer off by going to a place you have never been? Allegiant just made it easier to travel out of Des Moines without any layovers this summer.

The airline agency announced it will expand its list of destinations for flights out of the Des Moines International Airport. The schedule is seasonal and for a limited time based on high-summer travel rates. Some flights, which bring back past seasonal destinations, are as low as $70.

“Anticipating accelerated travel demand, we are excited to bring back these seasonal routes for passengers to enjoy some of our network’s most popular destinations just in time for summer vacations,” said Drew Wells, Allegiant’s chief revenue officer. “Allegiant’s affordable, all-nonstop flights allow customers to spend more time in their destination without the hassle of layovers or connections.”

What are the new Allegiant routes out of Des Moines?

You can fly out of Des Moines to any of the following newly active seasonal routes with Allegiant:

  • Portland, Oregon via Portland International Airport (PDX): Beginning May 23, 2024.

  • Los Angeles, California via Los Angeles International Airport (LAX): Beginning May 31, 2024.

  • San Diego, California via San Diego International Airport (SAN): Beginning May 31, 2024.

  • Destin-Fort Walton Beach, Florida via Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS): Beginning June 1, 2024.

  • Sarasota, Florida via Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ): Beginning June 8, 2024.

When can I fly to Allegiant's new seasonal destinations?

Flight dates for seasonal destinations vary depending on the location of the flight.

  • Portland, Oregon: Sundays and Thursdays

  • Los Angeles, California: Mondays and Fridays

  • San Diego, California: Mondays and Fridays

  • Destin-Fort Walton Beach, Florida: Saturdays

  • Sarasota, Florida: Saturdays

When do Allegiant's seasonal flights from Des Moines end?

Similar to the departure dates, the new seasonal destinations end on different dates over the next year. Most end in August along with the summer season. Here is when they conclude, based on Allegiant's current schedule:

  • Los Angeles, California: Aug. 12

  • San Diego, California: Aug. 12
