Allegiant Air Has a Dozen New Florida Routes for Spring 2024 — Including New Service to This Airport

The airline is also running a 1-day flight sale with $49 trips.

Low-cost airline Allegiant Air is expanding across the country with 12 new routes, including flying to Orlando’s main airport for the first time.

The airline, which will launch the new routes in the spring next year, will start flying to Orlando International Airport from Asheville, NC, Allentown, PA, and Knoxville, TN, in May 2024, according to the carrier. Orlando will mark the first new airport Allegiant has added since March 2022.

"We are thrilled to offer Allegiant travelers new destination options taking off this Spring. The announcement of new service is a celebration of the success we've had in these markets," Drew Wells, Allegiant's senior vice president of revenue and planning and chief revenue officer, said in a statement, adding the new service to Orlando "makes us a more dynamic airline. We are committed to opening the door to accessible travel in as many markets as possible and know our customers appreciate the low-cost, nonstop options offered by Allegiant."

In addition to Orlando International Airport, the carrier will also add new routes to Florida airports it currently serves, including a flight from Rapid City, SD, to Orlando Sanford International Airport; a flight from Bismarck, ND, to St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport; and a flight from Washington D.C. to Punta Gorda Airport just north of Fort Myers.

The airline will also add new flights from Billings, MT, to Los Angeles; and from Rockford, IL, to Nashville.

To celebrate the new routes, Allegiant will offer several one-way flights starting at just $49. To take advantage of the low fares, travelers must book by today, Nov. 17, and travel by Aug. 12, 2024.

Allegiant Air is based in Las Vegas and offers a bare-bones ticket, charging for everything from carry-on baggage to water on the flight. The airline flies to destinations across the country, including Denver, Boston, San Diego, and of course, Las Vegas.

The expansion comes just months after Allegiant said it would start scaling back select flights on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The airline said fewer travelers fly with the carrier during those days.
