Allegiant is adding flights from Phoenix to this summer getaway. Here's how to get a deal

This spring, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport will get new flights to a popular travel destination often nicknamed "the Paris of the South."

Allegiant Air announced on Monday it would launch new nonstop flights between Sky Harbor and Asheville, North Carolina, starting May 26. It's one of eight new routes across the U.S. that Allegiant will roll out in 2023.

Asheville is a new route for Sky Harbor. It has service to Charlotte and Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina.

Introductory fares for the Phoenix-Asheville flights start at $69 one way. Seat assignments, carry-on bags and other options cost extra.

"Phoenix is an incredible addition for travelers," Lew Bleiweis, president and CEO of Asheville Regional Airport, said in a statement about the new route. "We look forward to welcoming more visitors from Phoenix to our mountains, and to seeing many of our region’s travelers make their way to the Arizona desert."
