Update, May 21, 2020 11:25 a.m.: The saga continues. Chrissy Teigen said she is not OK with The New York Times putting cookbook author Alison Roman's column on temporary leave after Alison made controversial comments about Chrissy and Marie Kondo.

Though The Times did not indicate that Alison's comments about Chrissy or Marie were the reason behind the leave, many have linked the two incidents given the timing. Chrissy responded to Twitter users discussing the situation, saying that people blame her for Alison's leave.

She went on to respond to another person saying that she forgave Alison and that she doesn't agree with the Times' decision, nor did she call for them to take any action against Alison.

"I very publicly forgave Alison and that was real. When I said I don't believe in being cancelled for your honest opinion, that was very real. I don't agree with what the NYT has done, I am not them. I didn't call them, I didn't write, and most of all, I'd like her back," she tweeted.

Chrissy also responded to someone asking if the "beef" between them has been squashed after Chrissy complimented Alison's now-famous recipe for Caramelized Shallot Pasta. Chrissy summed it up by saying the situation "sucks in every way."

Original, May 20, 2020 10:58 a.m.: Cookbook author Alison Roman's bi-weekly New York Times cooking column is "on temporary leave," according to a report from The Daily Beast. This comes after Alison gave a controversial interview and received backlash for her comments about Chrissy Teigen and Marie Kondo.

A Times spokesperson confirmed to the outlet that Alison's column was currently on leave, but did not give a specific reason why, nor did the spox specify how long her column would be on leave. The report then says that according to unnamed "Times insiders," Alison had a piece set to go up last week, but it was not published.

Alison has been quiet on social media since she issued an apology to Chrissy earlier this month in posts on Twitter and Instagram. The columnist received backlash for her comments saying that Chrissy's career trajectory "horrifies" her and accusing her of running a "content farm," among other statements. She apologized first in a short tweet but later went on to issue a lengthy statement acknowledging that she had singled out two Asian woman in her comments.

"The fact that it didn't occur to me that I had singled out two Asian women is one hundred percent a function of my privilege (being blind to racial insensitivities is a discriminatory luxury)," she wrote: "I know that our culture frequently goes after women, especially women of color, and I am ashamed to have contributed to that."

Alison also included her email in the statement so readers could reach out to her with comments, advice, and feedback. Chrissy quickly responded and thanked Alison for her apology on Twitter.
