Alicia Silverstone’s Son Bear Makes Rare Public Appearance With His Mom Where He Shows Off His Sports Skills

Known for her unique, often “crunchy” parenting style, Alicia Silverstone’s rare outing with 12-year-old son Bear Blu was surprisingly, well, pretty ordinary. (This is the woman who used the baby bird method to feed Bear as a toddler, so that’s saying something!)

The Clueless star took her pre-teen, who she shares with ex-husband Christopher Jarecki, to the Los Angeles Clippers vs. Houston Rockets basketball game on Nov. 17. Silverstone wore a black shirt and jeans with a green coat over it, and Bear wore a light blue hoodie underneath a Clips jersey with green jeans.

The whole outing screamed typical pre-teen outing — from the sports-focused event to the worn tennis shoes (do shoes get more comfortable if they’re covered in holes or something?). Regardless, Bear and Silverstone seemed to be having a great time, smiling together in photos from the evening.

Sliverstone may have an unconventional approach to motherhood, but its obvious how much she loves her son.

Last year, Silverstone revealed on The Ellen Fisher Podcast that she still shared a bed with her then-11-year-old. “Bear and I still sleep together,” she said, adding that she doesn’t “really care” what anyone had to say about that. Silverstone also dished about the criticism she’s received for her “natural” parenting.

“[People] want to talk about Clueless, and I’m talking about anal electrocution of fur. And that’s not really want they want to hear,” she said with a laugh. “I’m a natural mama, and I’m a loving mama. I believe in love, I believe in nature, and our society is scared of nature and love.”

One thing’s for sure: you can tell Bear Blu is full of love for his mama and vice versa!
