Looking back at the past makes a lot of us cringe (school pictures from middle school, anyone?) and we think it’s safe to say that celebrities are no exception. What is really nice, however, is when you can look back at memories and compare yourself to where you are now. Not only just when it comes to your appearance and fashion choices, but your overall life and experiences.

In fact, it can be even more meaningful to do this when you can reflect on the relationship you have with the person in the photo, as actress Alicia Silverstone does in her recent Instagram post where she reminisces on her ’90s-to-now friendship with singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette.

Isn’t it crazy to look back on our friendships and ourselves, and see how much we’ve changed over time? There’s nothing quite like going back down memory lane, celebrity or not.
