Throughout The Real Housewives of Miami, Alexia and Adriana have been at odds. Their feud reached a breaking point in The Real Housewives of Miami Season 5 when Adriana made an insensitive comment about Alexia’s son, Frankie Rosello, who was involved in a car crash in 2011 that resulted in permanent brain damage. The drama continued in The Real Housewives of Miami Season 6 when Adriana accused Alexia of making a transphobic comment that never aired in Season 4. So what was Alexia’s transphobic comment on The Real Housewives of Miami and what did she allegedly say? Read on for what Adriana claimed Alexia’s transphobic comment on The Real Housewives of Miami was.

What was Alexia’s transphobic comment on The Real Housewives of Miami?

What was Alexia’s transphobic comment on The Real Housewives of Miami? In a preview for the premiere of The Real Housewives of Miami Season 6, Alexia Nepola revealed that she and Adriana de Moura still weren’t friends after she accused her of making a transphobic comment following the Season 5 reunion, which is why she didn’t invite her to her New Horizons party party. “I was willing to forgive and kind of forget what Adriana had said, but then Adriana after New York, decided to go on a press tour. I don’t trust her, and why would she want to be there after she feels the way she does about me and my family. Why would you want to be in my home?”

The scene also included a screenshot of a headline that read: “Adriana de Moura Claims Alexia Made Transphobic Comment on RHOM and Refuses to Accept Apology After Making Frankie Analogy, Plus Shades Her and Marysol and Hints Cast Is Facing a Divide.”

So what was Alexia’s transphobic comment on The Real Housewives of Miami? The headline came from an interview Adriana did with the “Behind the Velvet Rope With David Yontef” podcast in February 2023, where Adriana claimed that Alexia made a transphobic comment to her now-husband, Todd Nepola, about a trans woman at a Pride event. “It made me think of when she was shaming a trans woman at a Pride event in which she was going to be honored as a gay marshal. Before she goes on stage, she was sitting downstairs, telling her fiance, ‘Oh, that’s a man. That’s a man,’” Adriana said.

Adriana went on to relate the incident to an insensitive comment she made about Adriana’s son, Frankie Rosello, in The Real Housewives of Miami Season 5 that she regrets. “So, again, she should understand that sometimes we say things that we don’t mean. They sound pretty offensive, but you don’t mean it. You just say it sometimes without thinking,” Adriana said.

Adriana claimed that the Pride event where Alexia made the alleged transphobic comment was filmed for The Real Housewives of Miami Season 4. “How insensitive is it? How is it if we were to ask this woman, how would she feel about this comment? Someone who has gone an entire life of transphobic and surgeries and shame to overcome this body that she came into this world in, to become her real self. Everything that she went through, and someone completely dismisses it and says, ‘Oh, that’s a man.’ How offensive is that and insensitive? I’m sure if we were to get those words from this woman, it wouldn’t be very kind.”

During the interview, Adriana also called the cast of The Real Housewives of Miami “fairweather friends.” “I call them fairweather friends because when I was married on top of my game and I felt like they had something to take, then they were my friends. Now they feel like I’m less relevant,” she said, claiming that she “never had any issues with” Alexia or Marysol or did “anything to them” before the show returned for Season 4. “I’m very shocked … because throughout the years… I was there for them.”

She also accused Alexia of “twisting” her comment about Frankie to make her look worse. “She was planning on twisting it all along. She was just waiting for the moment. And I felt like when I made that bad analogy, I just gave it to her on a silver platter and then she just ran with it,” Adriana said. “I understand that was a bad analogy … I shouldn’t have said it … And I regret it. And I’ll take those words back if I could because my intention was the opposite. What I was trying to reach with that bad analogy was empathy from her.”

She continued, “I’ve apologized many, many times on camera, off camera and she keeps kicking me down… and acting as if she never said anything offensive to anyone without meaning it.”
