Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Shared the Exact Lipstick She Wore During Her DNC Appearance

Everything Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez does seems to cause quite the online conversation—including her appearance during the virtual 2020 Democratic National Convention on August 19.

Of course, AOC is a skilled politician and a rising star in the Democratic Party, but she's also a millennial woman who's not afraid to show the many aspects of her life…like her beauty routine and makeup choices. Because, yes, though some people struggle to admit this fact: Women can indeed be interested in both politics and beauty, and we love AOC for not running away from that.

During her moment in the spotlight last night, many social media users wondered about her choice of lipstick, a bit of a switch-up from her now famous red lip. “Can’t stop thinking about how AOC’s lipstick matched her top SO PERFECTLY,” one person tweeted. “@AOC love you and all your work! Keep fighting the good fight! Also, what lipstick were you wearing last night? That dusky rose was awesome on you!” another asked.

Never one to let her people down, AOC shared the exact shade she was wearing should you want to grab one for yourself. In response to a Twitter user who asked, “Okay, @AOC, I've been dying to ask you a girl to girl question—what color lipstick were you wearing last night and who makes it? I'm OBSESSED with that color!” the congresswoman replied, “I got you! It’s Tarte matte tint in Envy.”

The full product name is Tarte Lippie Lingerie Matte Tint in Envy, and it's an easy-to-apply chubby pencil that sells for just $24.

Along with her choice of lip color, there was a lot of chatter online about why Ocasio-Cortez's appearance was so short and why she seconded the nomination of Bernie Sanders instead of Joe Biden. But, of course, there was a very simple explanation there if you read past the rush of angry tweets.

This was all actually part of standard DNC procedure (this is a convention, after all, not just a broadcast) wherein any candidate who receives more than 300 delegates (as Sanders did) is eligible for nomination. AOC being AOC, she explained how it all worked to her followers, called out news organizations for misleading tweets, and congratulated Biden on his nomination.

A true queen.
