Alex Trebek Can Barely Hide His Disappointment as Contestants Blow Every Question

The only questions left on the board at the end of Thursday's Jeopardy! were under "Talkin' Football," and, well, we'd use a football analogy for how badly the contestants screwed up, but it would go over their heads. For the entire round, not a single buzzer went off once, and Alex Trebek clearly used every ounce of his Canadian upbringing to keep from flying off the handle.

As a seasoned veteran of the game show life, Trebek seemed to figure out almost immediately that this round would be a struggle, but even he seemed incredulous as it went on. Take for example the $400 question: "Tom Landry perfected the shotgun formation with this team." The only sound that comes after is a deafening silence, and then the audience laughing. "Dallas Cowboys," Trebek tells them. "Do you think we should go to commercial?"

"Let's look at the $1000 category, just for the fun of it," may go down as one of the most delicately savage lines ever spoken on Jeopardy! Their social media account, though, is a little hotter.
